I was living with my son, his wife, and my granddaughters at the time the book was created. Now how it came about is what may peak your interest! You see, MOUNTAIN'S BRIDE came to me in a dream. This was to be the first of three books that came to me in such a manner. I woke up one morning and remembered the dream explicitly. The story was dull to me and I disregarded the very idea. Well, this was to go on for a week's time and finally...I got up and sat at the computer at 3:00 in the morning so that these dreams would leave me be.
As I was writing, my son came in and quietly asked me what I was doing. I told him that I had been having a repetitive dream about a book that wanted to be written; he asked me if I had begun losing my mind. I laughed and said I wasn't or perhaps I was but either way, I was writing this book. About 7 in the morning he came in again and began reading the work I had completed. I told him that it was boring and that I wasn't going to finish it. I also spoke out loud to what ever was sending the dream to me and told it that I wasn't writing this book, it sucks. My son read a bit of it and he said: "Yep, it sucks". So, I let the book be; that was strange for me because I usually delete anything I feel is an error in judgement but I didn't do that with MOUNTAIN'S BRIDE.
About a year and a half later, I was sleeping and the dreams returned. At this time, I was in my own apartment, where I currently live. When the dreams came; they corrected me in what I had written. It turns out that the error was mine, not the persuasions of my dreams. I continued to dream about these corrections for another week and at it's end: I loved the story and so I opened the file and began the hard work ahead of me. I worked for a month and had three chapters done...now it gets really wild.
During this time, I found a spiritual guide and through him I came to realize that there was something brewing for my life and that it was going to be big. He wasn't wrong, by no means. Also during this time, one of my bosses had struck a conversation up with me and it revolved around my dreams to be an author. He requested to see my work before helping me to accomplish my goal and I agreed but he was not going to get the best of my work but the worst...you guessed it: MOUNTAIN'S BRIDE is my worst work and it's good.
WELL, when I gave him the three chapters, he didn't hesitate: he began that night to read over my possible future. Every day he came to me in a very excited manner and told me repetitively that I had so much talent that I shouldn't even be at Walmart (yeah, I know). After he finished with the three chapters, he demanded more chapters and I refused. He then insisted that I get the book finished and get it published: He would not leave me alone about it...too funny. Then I let him have a sneak peek at "PASSIONATELY YOURS" and "WELCOME TO: I DON'T KNOW, IDAHO". Welcome To: I Don't Know, Idaho was the original book we were discussing, it needs a lot of work but it is a full novel and not a novella. This was what he was going to help me with if he was impressed with the reading. He reiterated that I needed to get with the program and submit my work...so I did but that's weird too.
I went home in total doubt that I was this good but his encouragement sent me on a very fast search. I opened the search menu and typed in "Publishers" and at the top of the list was PublishAmerica. It stood out so boldly to me that I had to click on it. Looking at it now; I don't understand why it seemed so bold on that night - I was meant to be there. After reviewing the site, it was settled: They publish quite a few of America's new talent...I was in the right place.
After I submitted that night, the very next afternoon PublishAmerica called me and notified me that my book was readily accepted. I notified my family in tears as well as my boss and co-workers. I then contacted my spiritual guide and he said: "I told you that something big, really big was about to happen this year for you Lisa." This was an understatement...this was my life's dream come true and I can't express how pleased, emotional, thrilled, overwhelmed, and excited I was on that day! Mountain's Bride was the first of what will be 16 books to be published by Lisa R Taylor, Author.
Thank you for reading about MOUNTAIN'S BRIDE and her journey to print.
